Jim Ned Boys Basketball

Colton Stegall may be the new boys basketball coach at Jim Ned, but his team is certainly not new. Stegall inherits a roster that returns seven lettermen and four starters from a squad that was 23-10 overall, 8-4 in district and advanced to the Class 3A Division II bi-district round a year ago.
The Indians have both depth and balanced scoring with their seven returning players. Colton Skiles, a 5’10” senior averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds a game. Hayden Shelton, a 5’10” senior, aver aged 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game last season.
Other returning players include 5’10” sophomore Uriah Espinosa who averaged 8.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a freshman, 6’3” senior Boston Bullock who scored four points and grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game. 6’1” junior Van Newman who averaged 3.6 points per game, Bennett Boyer who scored 2.8 points per game, and 6’3” senior Brody Burkhalter who averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest.
Jim Ned’s district number changed but its district opponents remain the same this season. The Indians will be in District 5-3A with Clyde, Merkel, Grape Creek, San Angelo TLCA, Sweetwater, and Wall.
