District 5-2A Volleyball Season Outlook: Ballinger, Bangs

Ballinger

Ballinger enters its fourth varsity volleyball season looking to continue the growth of the program.

2025 season: Finished 17-19 overall, 1-7 in district.

Coach Robynn Jones returns 7 lettermen, including 5 starters, from a team that gained valuable experience in 2025.

Key players:

• Kyndal Rollwitz (Sr. OH/DS): Team-high 75 kills last season; returning from a torn ACL suffered during basketball season.
• Kyndall Weathers (Sr. Libero): Recorded 458 digs in 2024.
• Ava Aguilera (Sr. Setter): Led the team with 330 assists.

Other top returning players include Jennah Halfmann (Sr. OH/MB), Kennedee Franke (Jr. OH) and Allie Clemens (So. OH/DS).

Team outlook: Jones believes the Lady Bearcats are a stronger, more confident team this season and expects more offensive weapons to emerge as the young program continues to develop.

Ballinger competes in District 5-2A alongside Bangs, Brady, Christoval, Coleman and Miles.

Bangs

Bangs hopes to take a step forward this season with a young roster that gained valuable varsity experience last year.

2025 season: Finished 2-20 overall, 1-6 in district; advanced to the bi-district round of the Class 2A Division I playoffs.

Coach Colleen Westfall returns 7 lettermen, including 4 starters.

Key players:

• Ashlynn Sliger (So. MH): Led the team in kills as a freshman.
• Cameryn Harmon (So. OH): Top returning hitting threat.
• Adalynne Stephens (So. Libero): Team leader in digs last season.
• Cricket Caulkins (Jr. Setter): Led the Lady Dragons in assists.

Other key returners include Lillian Boren (Jr. DS), who helps anchor the back row defense.

Team outlook: Westfall expects the Lady Dragons’ added varsity experience to pay dividends, with offense projected to be the team’s biggest strength.

Bangs remains in District 5-2A with Ballinger, Brady, Christoval, Coleman and Miles.
