Early reached the Class 3A Division II playoffs in Marvin Wilson’s first season as head coach, finishing 5-6 overall and 4-1 in district in 2025.
2025 season: Finished 5-6 overall, 4-1 in district; advanced to the Class 3A Division II playoffs.
Early returns 12 lettermen, including 5 offensive starters and 5 defensive starters.
Key offensive players:
- Caden Wilson (Jr. QB/DB): Passed for 1,522 yards and 21 TDs while rushing for 521 yards and 12 TDs last season.
- Andrew Reedy (Sr. WR/DB): Recorded 44 receptions for 721 yards and 14 TDs in 2025.
- Brennen Rasor (Jr. WR/DB/K)
- Isaac Ybarra (So. RB)
- Jaxson Stockman (Sr. WR/DB)
Other key offensive contributors include Jackson Clark (So. WR/DB), Elijah Taylor (Jr. HB/LB) and Hunter McCullough (Jr. HB/LB).
Offensive line leaders: Rhett Smith (Sr. OL/DL) leads a unit that will feature four new starters.
Defensive leaders:
- Brayden Schaffer (Sr. LB): Team-high 118 tackles last season.
- Angel Marquez (Sr. LB): Second-leading tackler in 2025.
- Grant Stacks (Sr. OL/LB): Recorded 2 sacks.
- Andrew Reedy (Sr. DB): Added 3 interceptions.
Team outlook: Early will rely on the playmaking ability of Wilson and Reedy along with an experienced linebacker corps as the Longhorns make the jump to Class 3A Division I.
Early will compete in the new District 3-3A Division I alongside defending state champion Wall, Ingram Moore, Llano and San Angelo TLCA.
