Early returns nine starters on offense and seven on defense from a team that went 5-6 and made the playoffs as the fourth-place team from District 3-3A Division I.
“We will have a lot of experience coming back from last year,” Early coach Daniel Price stated. “We should be competitive. We have 15 guys coming back with 11 Friday Night games under their belt.”
Headlining the offense are junior QB Jaxyn Price (73-183-11, 8 TDs passing) and RB/LB Tre Beam (78-494, 7 TDs rushing). Beam also led the team with 85 tackles and six sacks on defense.
The Longhorns return their top two receivers in WR/CB John-Stewart Gordon (9-175, 2 TDs receiving) and WR/DB Rylie Hill (9-113, 2 TDs). Gordon led the team with three interceptions from his cornerback position.
Vic Cooper, a 6-4 wide receiver/defensive back, is joining the team after taking a couple years away from football.
“Vic has a chance to be special on both sides of the ball and help out our team this year,” Price said.
WR/DB Ki Houston and WR/DB Jeremy Brown will be key contributors, too. OT/DT Bradly Roman and C Chris Crawford are the leaders of the Longhorns’ offensive line.
WR/LB Caleb McCullough started every game as a sophomore and will be one of the leaders of the defense. Sophomore RB/LB Kaleb Ozuna will step in and help the defense from the first snap, according to Price. QB/S Tucker Hale returns in the secondary for Early, and Franky Villerreal is back as the team’s kicker.
