Clyde boys basketball coach Marc Case passed the 500-career-win total last year, and he plans to add to that total this season. Case has a 503-219 record in 30-plus seasons as a basketball coach.
The Bulldogs failed to make the playoffs last year, going 15-12 overall and finishing 6-8 in the rugged eight-team District 6-3A, which saw four teams win more than 20 games.
Clyde will field a young team this year, but there is reason for optimism after the junior varsity compiled a 19-2 record last season. Case expects the Bulldogs to be in the thick of the battle for one of the four playoff berths out of District 6-3A.
“We have an outstanding group coming up from the junior varsity,” Case said. “We have average size with above average quickness and speed.”
Leading the way for the Bulldogs will be 6’0” senior guard Evan Laughlin.
The rest of the Clyde lineup will be dotted with underclassmen. That includes 6’3” junior Wyatt Cox, 6’0” sophomore Blake Carr, 5’11” junior Austin Hawk and 6’3” sophomore Landon Yates.
Case also expects to receive contributions from 5’9” junior Axton Fish, 5’11” senior Preston Moore, 5’10” sophomore Austin Berry, 6’3” sophomore Jared Jeffers and 5’10” freshman Conner Hawk.
