Trent is starting a volleyball program for the first time this year, and Cheyenne Thompson has the challenge of serving as the first head coach of the new team.
“This team hasn’t seen the court for many practices,” Thompson said, “but the few they have had you can tell they all have that determination to want to learn, grow and become better. I am excited to see how this year turns out. Win or lose, these girls strive to learn more. Seeing that from a coaching aspect is one of the best things.”
Thompson said it was impossible to list any individual players since the team has no returning letter winners and has not yet played a game.
The Lady Gorillas will play in the nine-team District 7-2A along with Colorado City, Miles, Bronte, Loraine, Olfen, Paint Rock, Veribest and Water Valley.
